Prague
Prague pictures
We left thursday night for prague. the train we were supposed to take was not the train that we ended up taking, so it was kind of a guessing game to get to prague. we just knew what cities we had to go to along the way and went from there. Thirteen hours later we were in Prague. When we got there it was late afternoon, so we didn't do any serious sight seeing, and walked around the city a little bit. That night we spent at least an hour looking for a bar to go to and ended up going to an irish pub. at least there were real irish people in it (unlike the ones in boston, haha). the next day we slept pretty late since we didn't really sleep thursday night at all and friday we were busy all day. we first headed to the castle of prague and saw the cathedral there. prague is supposedly the only city in europe that wasn't destroyed in world war II, so it has a lot of medieval architecture. then we went to petrin's hill. it is basically a hill with forest in the middle of the city. it's cool for those who like the outdoors. after that we went looking for a bar again and this time we wandered to an australian bar. we met the assistant editor for Doom III which i guess hasn't been announced yet. his name is peter and he was a brit and very nice. i had the best hot chocolate of my life. in europe the hot chocolate is far superior to that in the states, first of all, the hot chocolate was actually hot chocolate, i mean, melted chocolate. so it was really thick. and really really good. after that we met a crazy italian guy named andre, and he took us to a disco. it turned out to be sort of a sketchy situation and we ended up leaving.
sunday we decided to all split up and walk around. i decided to hang around the bridge and to go shopping. i enjoyed myself. i like walking around the city and not necessarily doing touristy things because i think i get a better feel of the city and the atmosphere.
Prague's rating: B+
next weekend i'm going to switzerland, by myself. should be fun
